Davidson, NC (February 16, 2026) – Davidson Community Foundation (DCF) has announced grants to four nonprofits totaling $75,000. Grant recipients include: Davidson-Cornelius Child
Development Center, Davidson Housing Coalition, Ada Jenkins Center and La Escuelita Bilingual Preschool.

According to Boris Henderson, chair of the Foundation’s Grants Committee, the grants will enhance support for the critical needs of these nonprofit organizations.

“Our grants committee is composed of volunteers who bring a great deal of professional and personal expertise in finance, nonprofit operations, and in the process and evaluation of grant proposals,” says Henderson. “We spent a great deal of time studying requests in order to ensure that the Foundation’s resources, made possible through our donors, are spent responsibly and in the most effective ways.”

Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center received $25,000 to help fund critical facility needs, some of which include ceiling repairs, replacing flooring, painting and other improvements that are critical to the safety, cleanliness of the Center and that continue to meet the state’s building codes.

Davidson Housing Coalition was granted $25,000 to convert existing unused space at The Bungalows into a new, one-bedroom affordable housing unit.

Ada Jenkins Center was awarded a $12,500 grant to renovate and convert their mobile dental truck into a fully functional unit that also includes laundry and shower equipment.

La Escuelita, a bilingual preschool, received a $12,000 grant to help staff two afternoon classes to help ease a growing waiting list.

Henderson says that although DCF was founded only six years ago, donors in the Davidson area have stepped up to help meet community challenges and support its numerous nonprofit
partners.

“The Foundation has the capability to enhance the work of nonprofits,” adds Henderson. “DCF also has the ability and flexibility to meet emergency needs which is critical in any community.”
Henderson cites the Foundation’s recent $10,000 emergency grant to the Ada Jenkins Center to help those affected by the disruption in SNAP benefits.

“Our donors are the backbone of any community and its ability to help provide a quality of life to all," says Henderson. “We appreciate any gift large or small so that we can continue to make a meaningful impact to those in need.”
