Davidson, NC (April 27, 2026) – Applications are now open for Davidson Community Foundation (DCF)’s spring grant cycle. DCF is offering single-year grants to 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations with innovative projects serving the needs of Davidson, NC residents.
“Our board is actively engaged in the community to identify the most pressing needs and determine the best ways in which we can help,” said Jim Merrifield, DCF Board Chairman. “We encourage local nonprofit organizations with a proven record of success to help us continue this vital work in our community.”
DCF focuses on three key areas of need:
- Affordable housing, including critical home repair assistance.
- Child development to support programming, scholarships, equipment, and physical expansion for established providers.
- Critical needs, such as emergency health and safety needs of seniors and citizens with disabilities.
All applications must be received by May 15, 2026. Grant requests may cover project-related costs, as well as an allowance for administrative expenses, if needed. Applications will be evaluated by DCF’s grants committee, then reviewed by the full board in July. The grant application is available here or at DavidsonCommunityFoundation.org.
Earlier this year, DCF announced grants totaling $75,000 to four local nonprofits, including.
Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center, Davidson Housing Coalition, Ada Jenkins Center, and La Escuelita Bilingual Preschool.
“We are grateful to our donors who have supported DCF over the past six years to help meet community challenges and support the nonprofit organizations making a difference on the ground in our town every day,” Merrifield added.
Founded in 2020, DCF was established to bolster local nonprofit organizations. Guided by a diverse board of directors, DCF expands philanthropic efforts in the community and directs funding where and when it’s needed most. Since its inception, DCF has raised more than $1.4 million to provide assistance for projects designed to enhance the lives of residents.
