Since its inception, Davidson Community Foundation has raised more than $1.4 million in funds and has contributed more than $980,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations.

High-impact projects include:

More than $350,000 in emergency grants to nonprofit partners during the COVID crisis. That support provided critical assistance to 230 families – more than 750 neighbors in need – for rent/housing, food, medical expenses, utility services, transportation and educational programs.

Funding for eight permanently affordable townhomes in Parkside Commons (formerly Hoke Development) on Jetton Street. The Foundation contributed $400,000 to enable families earning less than 80 percent of the area median income to purchase homes with mortgages they can afford.

A commitment of $175,000 to partner with Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region, Rebuilding Together, and the Town of Davidson on a critical home repairs program for homeowners in the West Davidson community. The local effort addresses code and safety issues to help residents stay in their homes. The goal is to complete 15 projects in 2025.

A $22,000 grant to the Town of Davidson in 2023 to assist residents most severely impacted by Mecklenburg County’s new tax assessments. The support will ultimately help as many as 100 residents who qualify for the Town’s relief program.
